The Methods and Practice Track in Anthropology provides students with a rigorous, methodologically grounded, and holistic understanding of human diversity across time and space. Through focused coursework in Cultural and Medical Anthropology, Biological Anthropology, Archaeology, and Public/Applied Anthropology, students develop expertise in core anthropological methods. Students engage directly with these approaches in courses that emphasize hands-on learning, data collection, and analysis, preparing them to apply anthropological perspectives in real-world contexts. The curriculum highlights high-impact experiences such as faculty-mentored research, field schools, internships, and community-engaged projects, enabling students to gain practical skills and professional experience. Students can select courses and experiential opportunities aligned with their academic and career goals. Graduates of this track leave with strong analytical, research, and communication skills, well-prepared for advanced study or careers in a wide range of fields, including graduate programs, healthcare, cultural resource management, public service, nonprofit work, and industry.
