Biography
Stephen Eikenberry is a professor of applied optics in the College of Optics and Photonics (CREOL) and a professor of physics in the Physics Department at the 海角直播. He is a co-founder of the CREOL Astrophotonics program.
Eikenberry’s research focuses on studying black holes, neutron stars, dark energy, gravitational waves, and extrasolar planets. He designs and builds astronomical instruments (primarily infrared and optical) to carry out these observations, with related applications in remote sensing, space domain awareness, telecoms, and biomedical imaging and spectroscopy.
He received his Ph.D. in astronomy from Harvard 海角直播, his M.A. in astronomy from Harvard 海角直播 and S.B.s in physics and literature from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
