At UCF, all undergraduate applicants (excluding international students) are required to complete the <strong>Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)<\/strong> to establish financial need and determine eligibility for a variety of financial aid opportunities, including grants, scholarships and loans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUCF has established a date by which we prefer that students complete the FAFSA for maximum consideration for financial aid. By filing by the priority filing date, students increase their likelihood of getting the most comprehensive financial aid package available,\u201d says Karemah Manselle, interim director of the Office of Student Financial Assistance. \u201cWhile FAFSA availability was delayed, students can and should now complete and submit the 2025-26 FAFSA.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important FAFSA Deadlines<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The FAFSA application for the 2025-26 academic year is now open, and UCF students are encouraged to complete their application by <strong>Feb. 15, 2025<\/strong>. Students must submit a new or renewal FAFSA for every academic year in which they are enrolled.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why Complete Your FAFSA?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Completing the FAFSA is <strong>free<\/strong>, and it\u2019s the only way to apply for federal financial aid. Submitting your FAFSA on time ensures you are considered for the widest range of financial aid opportunities, helping to make your education at UCF affordable. <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\">The form is available online<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What Determines Financial Aid Eligibility?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Eligibility for financial aid is based on several factors, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your Student Aid Index (<strong>SAI)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Academic classification<\/li>\n<li>Enrollment status (e.g., full-time, part-time)<\/li>\n<li>Cost of attendance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How Financial Aid Is Awarded<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Once your FAFSA is processed, UCF\u2019s Office of Student Financial Assistance will use your SAI and other information to determine your financial aid package. Aid packages may include a combination of grants, scholarships, work-study opportunities and loans.<\/p>\n<p>The initial award assumes full-time enrollment (12 credits per semester for undergraduates). If your enrollment status changes, your financial aid package may be adjusted accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>For more information or to begin your FAFSA application, <a
