{"id":46391,"date":"2013-02-26T16:42:29","date_gmt":"2013-02-26T21:42:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=46391"},"modified":"2013-02-27T11:10:06","modified_gmt":"2013-02-27T16:10:06","slug":"center-for-emerging-media-features-poindexter-artworks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/center-for-emerging-media-features-poindexter-artworks\/","title":{"rendered":"Center for Emerging Media Features Poindexter Artworks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Artwork by UCF associate professor of art Carla Poindexter will be on display March 1-15 at Gallery 500 in the UCF Center for Emerging Media.<\/p>\n<p>Some of Poindexter\u2019s newest paintings will be exhibited with some of her older works and her animated short film \u201cCarnival Daring-Do &#8216;Featuring the Floating Apparitions,&#8217; &#8221; and her visual book \u201cThe Devil At The Door.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The exhibit, \u201cAbove the Planet Through a Microscope,\u201d is made up of a variety of different but interconnected works in painting, drawing and mixed media arranged to suggest a visual dialog between the works.<\/p>\n<p>There will be an opening reception 7-9 p.m. Friday, March 1, at the center, 500 W. Livingston St., in downtown Orlando.<\/p>\n<p>Poindexter teaches intermediate and advanced painting, advanced drawing, foundations design, various classes in upper-level experimental book arts and a graduate-level studio concentration course in the MFA program.
