{"id":72691,"date":"2016-05-26T07:48:28","date_gmt":"2016-05-26T11:48:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=72691"},"modified":"2020-03-26T19:11:21","modified_gmt":"2020-03-26T23:11:21","slug":"recreation-and-wellness-center-rolls-out-its-largest-crop-of-graduate-assistants-to-date","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/recreation-and-wellness-center-rolls-out-its-largest-crop-of-graduate-assistants-to-date\/","title":{"rendered":"Recreation and Wellness Center Rolls-Out Its Largest Crop of Graduate Assistants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>UCF\u2019s Recreation and Wellness Center strengthened its position as one of the nation\u2019s leaders in developing campus recreation professionals with the largest group of graduate assistants in the department\u2019s nearly 40 year history.<\/p>\n<p>Ten graduating seniors have accepted positions at universities nationwide:<\/p>\n<li>Jessica Armenteros (海角直播 of South Florida)<\/li>\n<li>Kyra Dickie (海角直播 of Kentucky)<\/li>\n<li>Evelyn O\u2019Campo (海角直播 of South Florida)<\/li>\n<li>CJ Stancheski (Texas A&amp;M 海角直播)<\/li>\n<li>Chris Mason (Wichita State 海角直播)<\/li>\n<li>Greg Metzger (海角直播 of Georgia)<\/li>\n<li>Teesha Monroe (James Madison 海角直播)<\/li>\n<li>Bryce Starr (Western Michigan 海角直播)<\/li>\n<li>Calle Lajza (College of William &amp; Mary)<\/li>\n<li>Cat Spears (Armstrong State 海角直播)<\/li>\n<p>\u201cWith over 400 student employees, the RWC offers students a variety of advancing leadership opportunities to develop their skills and make them very marketable to potential employers,\u201d said Gary Cahen, associate\u00a0director of RWC programs.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2012, the RWC has produced 36 graduate assistants. These students will work in exchange for the opportunity to earn their Masters degrees on tuition waivers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCampus Recreation is infectious, once you get in, and get bitten by the right bug, it\u2019s hard to find a career in anything else,\u201d said Stancheski. \u201cWorking at the RWC has prepared me to reach my career goals by having influential and motivating professional staff
